13th August 2008: GTN signs Russ Kane for Traffic Radio

One of London’s best known radio broadcasters, Russ Kane, is returning to travel news with Global Traffic Network.

13th August 2008: GTN signs Russ Kane for Traffic Radio

Russ will feature on Traffic Radio as the voice of a new set of information items for Transport for London, starting next month. For twenty years, Russ was the voice of the Flying Eye traffic reports on the Chris Tarrant breakfast show on Capital Radio.  Traffic Radio’s Manager, Will Jackson, said “There’s no-one better qualified as the voice of London travel news than Russ - he was a natural choice when GTN was looking for a new presenter for our TfL information.”

Russ Kane says “it’s a delight to be back on the radio talking about traffic in London.  Working with Global Traffic Network is very exciting, given their knowledge about, and passion for, traffic and radio – their ideas are what the entire industry needs.  Traffic Radio is a great service for Londoners and it’s good to be involved.”

Russ’s features promote walking and cycling to work, lift-sharing and car clubs. They’ll be broadcast between round the clock national and local travel news on Traffic Radio, which is available in London on DAB digital radio, and online at trafficradio.org.uk, and is a partnership between the Highways Agency and Transport for London.
