17th January 2008: GTN UK to supply UKRD Group

Global Traffic Network UK have signed a three-year contract to supply traffic and travel reports to the UKRD group.

UKRD listeners in the Cornwall and Guildford areas will also benefit from enhanced traffic reports from Global Traffic Network’s own spotter planes which will be airborne within a few months, providing birds-eye views of the roads.

Global Traffic Network Inc already provides customised traffic reports to affiliated radio and TV stations across Australia and Canada in exchange for commercial airtime inventory.  UKRD is the second contract won by Global Traffic Network in the UK – it began broadcasting on Jack FM in Oxfordshire last October. The company’s experienced reporters broadcast comprehensive and accurate reports to provide stations with the quality service they are looking for.

Managing Director Paul Hutton says “this is a significant step in Global Traffic Network’s expansion into Europe. UKRD have great stations and our airborne reports will enhance the traffic service to some of the country’s most loyal radio listeners. UKRD have some great ideas for the future and we look forward to working with them.”

William Rogers, Chief Executive of UKRD says “Our portfolio of stations has always delivered good traffic and travel information but the deal with Global Traffic Network enables us to achieve a pretty substantial improvement in what we can broadcast to our listeners. The opportunity for UKRD now is to build upon this new relationship and we are looking forward to the future and what we can deliver together.….”

Global Traffic Network expects to announce further radio station contracts soon.
